2010 Progress Report

John Michael Lee Jr.
is an assistant research scientist in Research and Development at the College Board. John earned his Ph.D. in higher education administration from New York University and his MPA with a concentration in economic development from Georgia State University. John works on a variety of projects that include participating in research evaluating the efficacy of the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT® and Advanced Placement® programs; providing research and analysis support to Regional Account Services and other education constituents; and developing policy research to support Advocacy and Government Relations. John’s research interests include student access and participation in higher education, student preparation, and higher education policy. Prior to joining the College Board, John served as a policy analyst for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. John is a member of several professional associations including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), and the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).
Anita Rawls
joined the College Board in 2009 as an assistant research scientist. She is a member of the Research Services team within Research and Development. She provides internal and external support to various universities, departments and businesses in the form of statistical analysis, data, information, research and evaluation. She is most interested in ideas centered on test validity, survey research, hierarchical linear modeling and other statistical modeling. She is a member of the National Council on Measurement in Education and the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and served on the bylaws committee for Division D of AERA. She earned her doctorate from The University of South Carolina with a focus on educational research and measurement. Before joining the College Board, she served as a graduate research assistant for the South Carolina Educational Policy Center. She also served as 7th grade mathematics teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools before returning to graduate school.
