Recommendation Ten

We Recommend...

a renewed commitment to adult education opportunities, one that supplements existing basic skills training with a new “honors GED,” and better coordination of federal and state efforts to provide adult education, veterans benefits, outreach programs and student aid.

Tennessee
As mentioned earlier, there are Latino adults with some college but who have not completed a degree. In addition, there are some who have been very active in the workforce without a college degree.
Washington
Community and technical colleges have come together to form the Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST), which pairs workforce training with adult basic education or English as a second language so that students learn both at the same time.
